My Fellow Edmonds Residents:
I am a mom of 3 teenagers, and my husband and I own and operate a small business. I feel fortunate to call Edmonds home, and I am running to make it an even better place for generations to come. Like many of you, I chose to move to Edmonds because I felt it was the perfect place to raise a family and I wanted to be a part of this community.
When I found myself unsatisfied with governmental decisions, I knew that I had no right to complain if I was not willing to DO something to make a change. To that end, I have stood with the community actively advocating for the issues we care about, including:
- Advocating against a concrete on-ramp built directly over a protected marine wildlife sanctuary
- Advocating for the protection and restoration of the Edmonds Marsh, and daylighting of Willow Creek
- Advocating against reducing emergency medical services staffing levels.
- Advocating in favor of local legislation requiring safe storage of firearms and mandated reporting, if lost or stolen
I currently serve as Chair of the Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission, I am Legislative Lead for the Edmonds Group of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and I served on the Edmonds School District’s 2020 Facilities and Bond Committee.
My endorsements include: Snohomish County Chapter of the Sierra Club, National Organization of Women, National Women's Political Caucus- Washington State Chapter, Alliance for Gun Responsibility, Snohomish County Democratic Central Committee, 32nd and 21st Legislative Districts, Edmonds City Council President, Adrienne Fraley-Monillas, and Edmonds City Council Member, Mike Nelson.
My goal is to bring community engagement and government transparency to the forefront of local government.
We have an opportunity to engage our residents in addressing public safety issues, working towards a sustainable plan for development, and implementing policies to reduce our environmental footprint and to enhance to the unique character of our city.
As your city council member, I will provide inclusive leadership that will prioritize all of our neighborhoods: Our communities will each have a voice in setting the priorities for our city.
